Amnesty Temporarily Defeated

If you sent your faxes, called your Senators, or did something else to assist in the defeat of Amnesty, give yourself a pat on the back. Despite the overwhelming rallies filled with illegals and foreign nationalists, the Senate stood with the American people (for now) and defeated both the Kennedy-McCain Amnesty and the Hagel-Martinez Amnesty Bills. We need to keep the pressure up for the movement.

IMMIGRATION COMPROMISE STALLS IN SENATE

WASHINGTON, April 7

It really saddens me, but I

It really saddens me, but I think WLU is right RE: acquiring the Latino vote. It is shameful what is being done here.

I am an independent conservative who is registered Republican because I thought that by registering as a Republican I would be able to influence who they nominate in a primary. In NY, they have that option fixed; there is almost never a primary so who you get is who they pick!

I have written my representatives about the immigration issue and the terrible record the Republican Congress (and White House!) have on spending. The tax cuts have been very helpful for our family and have enabled us to spend $ and spur the economy, but if gov't spending keeps growing as it is now even the increasing federal tax revenues won't help, especially when the next recession arrives.

What we are getting IMO is Republican Socialism instead of Democrat Socialism. I have conservative social values so I like this better, but neither big-gov't big-spending party is going to help our kids have a better future. Instead, they will be indebted by our largesse.

And encouraging illegal immigration, and giving illegal immigrants socialist-style gov't gimmees, is only going to make it worse!

My solution to both the over-spending and immigration problems is a Constitutional Amendment to establish term limits for representatives and senators. Any citizen should be able to serve up to 2 terms in their life and that's it. If people aren't there very long, it is less advantageous for special interests to spend gobs of $ to keep them in their pocket.

Its about a) getting the

Its about a) getting the latino vote b) providing an endless source of slave labor to buisnesses that want maximized profits at any cost.

Maybe we should actually help these people by getting to the root of the problem instead of dealing with its symptoms. The root of the problem is that we support a corrupt Mexican government that cant make jobs for its citizens. We also support bad trade deals that have made these people even poorer than they were before! They are trying to survive by coming up here to support their families. Unfortunately it screws over OUR working men and women in the process.
Illegal immigrants suppress the wages of working men and women by over 200 BILLION dollars every year. Thats a lot of scratch these companies can put in their own pocket if this remains unchanged. Therefore, it will stay as is. You have two parties fighting tooth and nail to help out people that are foreign citizens! Who's representing the opinion of the average joe? They need that precious cash that only big buisness can give them!
Does it come as a surprise then that our corporation-in-chief supports giving these law breakers amnesty? Its good for corporate America. Down with the working man!

And thats a rather naive viewpoint. Its ALWAYS about money. Thats why big buisness lobies billions of dollars each year for "guest worker programs." Get it? Americans have the nerve to demand enough to get by on! Whats a FAIR wage? Whatta buncha lazy oafs! Get me my mexicans!

I dismiss the notion this

I dismiss the notion this has to do with labor, as much as it has to do with winning votes. McCain, Bush, and Cheney are in the minority of Republicans. Frist, and the majority of Republicans, are working hard to reject amnesty. I blame the Republicans for letting this go through, but I REALLY blame the 45 Democrats more than anyone.

I dont think that term

I dont think that term limits are really the answer, either. Term limits havent stopped our various presidents from becoming corrupt. The answer lies in publicly funded elections. This should help in keeping special interest groups from buying off our political leaders. This just seems to make too much sense for some people.

If only there were a party of common sense...

Actually a bunch of

Actually a bunch of Republicans are also trying to get amnesty for these people. McCain, Bush, & Cheney for starters. Or did you conviently forget facts so that you can trumpet your loud pro-Republican agenda?

Heres the deal: Illegal immigrants are great for buisnesses because its an endless source of cheap labor that undermines american workers by stifling their already stagnant wages. BOTH of our great parties want this to pass because they have BOTH been bought off by corporate interests and not the interests of the american people.

Until a party for the people is formed, nothing will ever change. Shout all you want, the will of the corporate master always prevails over whats right.

You seem to forget that a lot.
