Gathering of Eagles Post-Action Round-Up

If you're looking for the pictures and coverage I've put up so far, scroll down. I have well over a hundred pictures so more will be posted tomorrow morning or early afternoon. I just wanted to share some of the other good stories on the GoE front:

On numbers, the official estimate from the Park Service is that we were 30,000 strong! How's that for our first major rally? It's even drawn the attention of the Washington Post.

So many Free Republic threads are going, I can't link them all. Click here to see all the various discussions going on about the Gathering. Tomorrow's news should be interesting.

Malkin has a round-up. There's a nice little gallery she links to of photos, mainly of the moonbats and their signs.

Finally, an open question to everyone. Gathering of Eagles 2? When should it be, would you attend, is it a good idea, and are we ready to move forward to take this country back?

Thank you for the AAR

Thank you for the AAR Justin. In addition to my faith in the pro-troop, pro-America side being invigorated, I know that as long as our side has young people like you, we'll be OK.
GOE II, heck yes I'll show up.
Where?? Anywhere I can aggravate the moonbats and asshats.
I hope you had a chance to meet everyone you wanted to. I didn't but I was dancing with the wind and doing FreeRepublic duties.
And YES, those signs were made by our own BufordP.

I was there and never so

I was there and never so proud to see the turnout of soooo many vets. I didn't bring a camera so I am anxious to see the many photos that will be posted. Did anyone get a name of ANY members of Congress who might have attended to support our cause?

GOE could be an example of

GOE could be an example of the "Swift Boat Vets". On steroids. Remember them? My personal experience in the buildup to this event is that there is definitely a need here. The PGR, VFW, VVFW, American Legion, one would think, would mobilize their members in such instances but the stated position of their leadership was either negative, tepid, or non-existent. There was almost a revolt over at the PGR forums over the tepid response of the so called board of directors. Some threads were shut down. People got very angry at this.
A year ago I did the "run for the wall" and met and observed people across the breadth of this country. I was on the road for a total of 21 days. What I witnessed is beginning to resonate among the punditocracy, among my fellow lovers of liberty, and that is this country is desperately in need of leadership that will articulate the challenges we face and the actions we must take in this the latest existential challenge to our nation and the eternal verities which the genius of our forebears promulgated into our constitution.
Necessity, they say, is the mother of invention. If people demand leadership by marching in the street in sufficient numbers at sufficient frequency, leaders WILL emerge, and this kernel of freedom's rejuvenation will blossom and grow and sweep the nation and eventually the world.
There is a buzz now about "300". King Leonidas knew that he would die defending freedom and he knew with the same certitude that the valor of his men would give him and the ideas for which they fought an immortality that would stretch into the future for as long as men walked the face of the earth. It is time to renew that commitment. Gathering of the Eagles can be a beginning for liberty's new spring.

Judith: We were told Pres.

Judith:
We were told Pres. Bush WAS there. Marine 1 helicopter passed by over head a number of times. It was fabulous. My favorite part, when we recited the Pledge of ALeegiance, every one yelled "UNDER GOD" loud enough for the moonbats on the other side of the fence to hear.

Their rally was not anti-war. It was anti-America. Every communist, socialist, anti-Israel, pro-Hamas, 911 conspiracy theorist was out on Saturday. AND they bused in high school kids to participate. I asked one young girl what her "911truth.org" sign meant. She hadn't a clue. She also didn't know what a burqa or sharia was. Spent about 10 minutes talking with her. Sorry I didn't tell her to rent the movie "Not without my daughter." Clueless

This was fantastic. Bush

This was fantastic. Bush should have been there, it would have caused to moonbats to self-desintigrate.

DO IT AGAIN? In a New York

DO IT AGAIN? In a New York minute! This should, needs to, MUST happen again! Just tell where and when!

I know there was supposed to

I know there was supposed to be a large group of Christian protestors there protesting the war on a moral basis but they seemed to have been drowned out by the loonies.
Apparently they all kind of merged together (according to Justin) into one massive wave of anti-war crazies. Apparently there were some sane folks there but the crazies stole the show! They do kinda make you stare, i must admit.
I had to laugh when Justin pointed out to me that the anti-war march consisted of both pro-anarchy and pro-communism marchers. That's too funny.

I have to give points to Justin's side when it comes to the consistancy part, anyways. The anti-war marchers needed bulletpoints or something to stick to. They were all over the place.

Man, I'm glad I don't live in that city...
