The Liberal Attack on Wild Bill

Justin Higgins — Sun, 2007-04-15 02:20

Wild Bill is one of the most embattled bloggers I know. He's been attacked from every side in the blogosphere, just because he believes in brutal honesty, optimism, and a no-holds bar approach to opinion. Now, the liberal assault has moved to a technical front, as Norton internet security thinks Bill is a fraud. I don't know how Norton determines which sites are "fraudulent," but I'm guessing it's an internal liberal with a grudge.

ROTR- The Liberal Assault Continues

What's sad is, this sort of attack actually does damage. Who knows who might believe that Bill's site is actually fraudulent, and choose not to click through. Worse yet, other internet security programs might follow this and choose to block Passionate America. Good optimistic content may be blocked by the strong-arm tactics used by the American Left.

MsUnderestimated (not verified) — Sun, 2007-04-15 03:55

That's one of the reasons I hate Norton, the resource eater, and use AVG instead. I get Bill's site perfectly fine. No Symantec on my PC.

MsUnderestimated beat me to

Allan Strickland (not verified) — Sun, 2007-04-15 06:55

MsUnderestimated beat me to the punch; but I am an IT professional and except for very special cases, AVG is the much-recommended antivirus product and is available in a free for non-commercial use version. For antispyware, Microsoft's free Windows Defender is my top choice - except you can't download it if you've got a bootleg copy of XP. For pop-up and ad blocking, Proxomitron. And finally, to cap-off the tech cocktail with a cherry, use the bought-out-by-Symantec product, Sygate Personal Firewall. Because this excellent freeware technology has been gobbled up by the tech giant, the latest public release (v5.6) will have to be foraged using Google. The installer is called spf.exe.

When customers bring me in to troubleshoot and debug their systems, the first thing I usually do is uninstall their self-inflicted viruses along with the accidental infections. ANY Symantec product qualifies as a self-inflicted virus, because point blank, it does more outright damage to a system and its performance than the viruses and maladies against which it was meant to protect.

You don't have any evidence

meatbrain (not verified) — Sun, 2007-04-15 19:08

You don't have any evidence for this asinine claim either, Wild Bill. You could have just come right out and said so.

meatbrain (not verified) — Sun, 2007-04-15 18:48

Any actual proof of your accusations, little boy?

Didn't think so. But having exactly zero facts has never stopped you from shooting off your mouth before, has it?

Justin is so terrified of

meatbrain (not verified) — Sun, 2007-04-15 19:20

Justin is so terrified of defending his silly accusation openly that all he can bring himself to do is to change the URL that links my handle to my site (http://thingkingmeat.net) to the Wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Village_idiot. This is what passes for "wit" among the wingnut mouthbreather community of which Justin is a member in good standing.

(When you change the contents of this comment, Justin, I'll add an update to my post proving that you lie about what people say in comments on your site by changing their words. I've already taken a mirror of this page and this comment. Go on then, change it. Be a lying idiot. You can't help it.)

You're a gutless, credulous little cretin, Justin. That's why you can't actually produce any facts to back up the claims you've made in this post.

First off, I do say very

Justin Higgins — Sun, 2007-04-15 20:09

First off, I do say very specifically that I'm GUESSING this is an attack on Bill from the Left. You also love making claims that have no backing, like that Kit, Jay, and others would support that unfortunate racist beating from a police officer. For that, you're a hypocrite.

Secondly, I like having fun with you. I am going to seriously tell you to remove whatever mirror you've taken of my site however, because this is at the bottom of my site (and has been for some time):

All content on this site is the sole intellectual property and opinion of the author (primarily Justin Higgins). Comments are moderated and are not in any way endorsed by Justin Higgins (RealTeen). He reserves the right to edit any comments, trackbacks, or posts. Posts may be mentioned or cross-posted but excerpts/mirrors of this site must be taken down upon Justin's request. For more information, send an e-mail to right@rightontheright.com.

I decided to change your comments, because it's funny, and I've decided you have no right to host my intellectual property in any way. Bring it down meaty.

Dave (not verified) — Sun, 2007-04-15 20:40

It is apparent Mr. Meat represents the tolerant, resaonable left in this country. Someone should tell him global warming doesn't exist, maybe his meat brain would explode...

Kat, the issue has been

Justin Higgins — Sun, 2007-04-15 20:39

Kat, the issue has been corrected both by me clicking to view the site anyways, and by both me and Bill reporting the issue to Symantec. I'm not quite sure why they tagged Bill this way, but the screenshot shows what I saw.

You first stated your claim

meatbrain (not verified) — Sun, 2007-04-15 20:34

You first stated your claim as a fact, little genius:

"Now, the liberal assault has moved to a technical front, as Norton internet security thinks Bill is a fraud."

Yes, you also make a "guess" -- but it's a guess based solely on your own intelligence instead of liberal rhetoric, as always.

I'm seriously telling you that I'm keeping the mirrors I've made of your site, because I don't give a rat's ass what you want. If I decide to use them, I'll use them. I'll go on making mirrors of your site whenever I choose, because I'm completely ignorant of the law and your right to control your intellectual property. I get the few visits I do get stealing and attacking other people's intellectual property damnit!

Meathead sure shows up at

Cao (not verified) — Sun, 2007-04-15 20:37

Meathead sure shows up at the weirdest times.

When you're relatively certain that something is going on, he pops up to tell you it's not.

Meathead, you're mama's calling, and I think you left your blanket in the pram.

Justin, I clicked over to

Kat (not verified) — Sun, 2007-04-15 20:19

Justin, I clicked over to Wild Bill's yesterday immediately when I saw this post. I'm running Norton, but I got Passionate America just fine. Now, I AM running a corporate version which is preferred by my beloved compugeek hubby.

What version of Norton are you running, what kind of settings does it have, and are you still having the problem? If I can send that info over to my guy, he might be able to suss out what's going on.

You folks have to realize

Ogre (not verified) — Sun, 2007-04-15 20:54

You folks have to realize that Meatbrain lives in a world all his own. Things like physics, logics, and morals simply don't exist there. Just ask him, he'll tell you.

Oh, and he's an excellent mind reader. He can read your mind and tell you when your opinion is wrong 9 times out of 10.

See, if I thought there were any hope of getting through to meatbrain, I'd point out that he requested evidence that the site was blocked -- which was provided in the form of a large picture in the initial post. But, in the world that is meatbrain, again, facts don't matter. He honestly cannot see that screenshot -- the screen shot simply does not exist in the world that is meatbrain's own mind. Yes, he's that messed up.

I think Ogre's point is well made.

"Prove it!" When Justin already DID prove it with that screenshot.

DOY DUH DOY!

Meathead needs some serious mental help, as Kender so aptly points out...

meatbrain (not verified) — Sun, 2007-04-15 22:37

I look forward to the assembled brainpower here describing just exactly what it is in the screen shot that provides evidence to support Justin's postulation that the blockage of passionateamerica.com is in fact a "liberal assault" perpetrated by "an internal liberal with a grudge".

Then again, he was only postulating. He didn't go and call a bunch of people racists without evidence like I did.

And as expected, Justin has chosen to point out that I broke the law and change my comments because it's his site and he doesn't enjoy leftist idiots like me using it to get traffic to their own pathetic web endeavours. This, of course, surprises no one.

Still the pathetic troll I see Meat for Brains.

Meathead, how nice of you to send me a
pic of your mom. I know you said she lost some weight, but she still resembles a slug.

Do you take after her?
