A Conservative Democrat?

After watching the Democrat debate, I wasn't trying to figure out which one was most Conservative. I was trying to figure out which one was most moderate. We all know which ones (Dodd, Biden, Kucinich, and Gravel) were most liberal, and now, some wonder what would happen if a Conservative Democrat was in the race.

Instapundit, prompting on a Mickey Kaus article, asked:

How about Zell Miller? The DraftZell.com domain shows as available . . . .

Indeed, the DraftZell.com domain is available, and I would support a Zell candidacy. I would also support a Romney, Thompson, or Gingrich candidacy more. I have to wonder where the Blue Dog Democrats have went, and why there isn't a Miller or Lieberman in the race. Still, in case the need arises for a draft movement...

ROTR- Democrats, Draft Zell!

The Democrats would actually have a shot at winning in 2008 if they would nominate a Conservative, so I suppose if I'm cheering for a Republican victory, I should oppose a Zell run. A good run from him on the Democrat side could possibly produce that unity ticket that some are looking for.

A Democrat I

A Democrat I Wouldn’t Mind...

Why not pick Zell Miller as a VP for a Republican Ticket? A Conservative Republican like Romney, paired with Miller for VP would be a very attractive unity ticket.

Of course, Kevin. Because every word InstaPundit writes is *always* meant to be taken *completely* seriously.

Not an ironic bone in the man's body. Seriously.

*ahem*

And Vin Diesel? He'd be *awesome* as SecDef.

THOMPSON-RICE!

THOMPSON-RICE! THOMPSON-RICE! THOMPSON-RICE! THOMPSON-RICE!

I'd rather not let the Dems

I'd rather not let the Dems keep Zell. I think we should be considering him for a VP. A Romney/Miller or Gingrich/Miller or even a Thompson/Miller (although I do not see Thompson running) would be an intersting move.

With the potential to attract Democrats and Independents, as well as being a symbolic move, could make Zell a good choice.

This post is what Glenn

This post is what Glenn Reynolds uses as an example that the "Draft Zell" movement is taking off? Let me fire up my Photoshop and I'll start up a "Draft Vin Diesel" movement faster than you can say "Fast & Furious."

You can't draft someone for

You can't draft someone for the Democratic nomination who is not, in fact, a Democrat.

I don't want Zell to run as

I don't want Zell to run as a Republican. I want Zell to run for President as a Democrat.

Zell would never get the support of the Lefty progressive Democrats but his presence would make the debates a lot more interesting.

Give'em Hell Zell '08!

Gingrich/Miller looks best

Gingrich/Miller looks best so far, but I don't think any true Conservative would look good taking aboard a Democrat defector.

I starting to really like

I starting to really like the idea of a Romney-
Miller ticket. Weather Zell could attract any Democrats is questionable, but the symbolism itself of a GOP nominee picking a Dem VP might attract at least the attention of independents.
