Coming Soon...

Pretty soon, I plan on settling in with a regularly scheduled timeslot for my online radio show. I have some fun and interesting things that I want to do before I head to D.C. for the summer. The bit above is a promo for the show, from my good friend Dave.

Badge of Honor for Senator McCain

Planned Parenthood released the radio ad featured above to bash Senator John McCain. If he wants to earn points amongst Conservatives, he should wear this attack like a badge of honor. Here's what Planned Parenthood said in their release for the ad:

WASHINGTON, DC — The Planned Parenthood Action Fund today announced the release of a radio ad educating voters about Sen. John McCain’s anti-choice voting record. Throughout his entire public career, Sen. McCain has voted consistently against women’s health, and he supports overturning the landmark U.S. Supreme Court ruling, Roe v. Wade.

“Sen. McCain believes government has the right to interfere with the most personal and often the most difficult decisions affecting a woman's health,” said Cecile Richards, president of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. “Most Americans believe just the opposite and, as more voters realize Sen. McCain’s ardent anti-choice position, this will be an issue for him in the general election.”

I love how somehow "anti-choice" is an acceptable phrase but when we use the phrase "anti-life" we're assaulted by the baby-killing zealots. Senator McCain is pro-life, and Planned Parenthood hates him. Keep that in mind when you're heading to the polls in November.

What Romney Should've Said

Mitt Romney was handed a golden opportunity tonight to slam John McCain after McCain brought out his tired "for patriotism not for profit" and his equally tired "footsoldier in the Reagan revolution" lines. Romney should've said what I said in the audio playable above...

ROTR State of the Union 2008

TRANSCRIPT: Good evening. First off, I'd like to apologize, because I have a bit of a sore throat. I hope, however, that doesn't prevent you from listening to this very important message. A lot has happened in this past year, and a lot can happen in the following year. We have a lot of work to do.

In the past year, the Democrat Congress has failed us in many ways. They have failed to provide adequate and timely support for our armed forces, they have failed to acknowledge the successes being made under General Petraeus in Iraq, and they have failed to apply appropriate pressure to radical regimes like Iran and Syria. Those are just their national security shortfalls. The Democrat Congress has also tried to pass massive tax increases, has tried to ram down our throats a stepping stone to socialized medicine, and has tried to force upon America's industries regulations that would further damage our effectiveness in the global market.

The Republicans though, have failed too. We have failed as a party to articulate our ideas to the American people, to defend our ideology against the scorned and hateful attacks from the left, and we have failed in advancing an agenda despite the obstructionists in the Majority. We have failed the American people by not fighting tooth and nail for every vote, every mind, and every voice. All of this will change in the coming year.

Allow me to step into some imaginary shoes here, the shoes of a real Conservative President. No insult to our Commander-in-Chief, who I support very adamantly, but I am talking about an anti-amnesty, anti-pork, let's play hardball Conservative. I'm talking about a man with twice Reagan's charm and twice Bush's willpower. I'm talking about a man mysteriously absent from this election cycle. I'm talking about what could be.

Let me first address some domestic issues. Energy affects every part of our life, and most Americans feel the hit of the energy crisis in their pocketbooks, at the gas pumps, and when they have to pay their heating bills every winter. As President, I will not sign a single energy bill that further regulates our over-taxed and over-subsidized energy industry, and I will veto every bill on energy policy until Congress allows drilling in the Alaskan National Wildlife Reserve. Drilling there, along with further off-coast drilling in the gulf and drilling for oil shale in the Rockies, would provide American with the largest oil supply in the world. If the Democrats really stand for energy independence, they'd stand for America using the numerous untapped resources at our fingertips. I'll also make sure companies drilling in these areas receive tax breaks if they refine that oil for gasoline, to be sold in America. Low taxes keep businesses in the United States, and benefit the American consumer.

On spending, I will not sign a single bill that includes new spending unless it will bring us into surplus. I do not buy into the idea that we need to ease our way out of deficit spending, and I will work with both parties to draw up an acceptable plan that puts us in the black. I will not however, negotiate on defense spending and spending on securing the border. Those two things fall directly under the responsibilities of the federal government, and I will uphold my duty as Commander in Chief to secure our borders and win our wars.

Speaking of our southern border, I will veto any bill that includes an amnesty provision, and I will use my executive authority to mobilize the Border Patrol, the National Guard, and if necessary, the full scope of the United States military to prevent a single illegal immigrant from crossing our borders. I will also mandate that all states enforce our current immigration law or be cut off completely from federal funding. No sanctuary cities, no non-responsive state police, just enforcement.

On taxes, I will work with both parties to completely dismantle the IRS and support either a national flat tax or a national sales tax, whichever Congress sees fit. I myself prefer a sales tax, but it is the authority of Congress to make tax policy, and I will let them make the decision. Hopefully, they will adopt the Fair Tax plan being championed by Neil Boortz, and recently, and perhaps for political expediency, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. I believe the plan will stimulate growth and put money into the pockets of Americans. I am tired of the IRS and the pointless government bureaucracy that is amongst the most hated organizations in the country.

My plan when it comes to global warming is simple, de-regulate. We have not built new refineries to meet demand, and because of that, countries like Saudi Arabia and China are doing oil refining. The process there is completely unregulated, and greenhouse gas emissions are ridiculous. If global warming alarmists really cared about the global environment, they would support the building of new refineries, so more of the world's oil could be refined here, where there are some regulations to keep the process clean and efficient. In the words of political pundit Glenn Reynolds, "I'll start acting like it's a problem when the people that tell me it's a problem start acting like it's a problem."

My foreign policy plans are also very simple. There will be no more weapons coming into Iraq from Iran, or else we'll take immediate and dramatic action against Tehran. That's all I have to say about that. We will win the war in Iraq, we will maintain a presence there as long as necessary. Our enemy, global jihadists, will not have a moment to rest, sleep, or re-group. It does not matter where they are, we will destroy them, hopefully with the blessing of the country in which they're operating, but if not, we will destroy them anyways. As a wise man once said, you're either with us or against us.

In short, we have great opportunities in front of us in 2008, but only if we're willing to play hardball with those who are standing in the way of a stronger America. We need to be willing to say there are some things that can't be negotiated, and that there are some principles that can't be compromised. We need to be willing to say some things are right and some things are wrong. Stand with me in 2008 for America. Thank you, and God bless.

Justin on Fred- The Blogburst

TRANSCRIPT: Hi. This is Justin from Right on the Right. Can you say Fredmentum?

Fred's bringing back the red pick-up truck. Fred's launching an ad across the state of Iowa that paints him as the one true Conservative. Fred's meeting with the folks, on the ground, and spreading the message of low taxes, strong foreign policy, and strong borders to the people of Iowa. No wonder the Conservative blogosphere loves him!

Today, hundreds of Conservative blogs, some big, some small, are working together to raise money for Fred, and to help him in his 11th hour push to surprise the world in Iowa. The pundits think John McCain is surging, the strategists are still talking about the Huckaboom, but in the blogosphere, it's all about Fredmentum. In today's post, I'm compiling a list of blogs and posts that support Fred. I'm also going to ask my readers to do two things. One, donate to Fred if you're financially able. He needs about a quarter of a million dollars to cover Iowa with his latest ad. You can help. Two, call for Fred in Iowa. Actual voices talking to actual people mean the world. It's not too late for Conservatism to win this election. It's Fred time.

So, on to the blogburst. Hundreds of blogs are weighing in. Here are some perspectives:

Wake Up America is talking about another big Iowa newspaper endorsement Thompson received. Momentum on the ground? Spree also gives an opinion of Rick Moran's post.

Mr. Skulduggery calls Fred the gift that keeps on giving. Christmas surprise maybe?

You know why I think Fred absolutely can't lose? He has the pirate endorsement. Can Rudy Giuliani or Mike Huckabee say they have that? I think not.

Fred's new ad, in addition to being the objective in Iowa, is getting A LOT of play on the internet. bRight and Early sure found the ad worthy of play. Then again, so did I.

An Ol' Broad is rambling about Fred, and how that even though no candidate can have her 100% support, Fred is closest with about 90%. That's about as close to an endorsement as you can get in this race.

Stay tuned for more updates on the blogburst...

PREVIOUS:
Justin on Fred: Support

TRANSCRIPT: Hi. This is Justin from Right on the Right and this is another edition of Justin on Fred.

One of the constant complaints I hear from Conservatives about Fred Thompson is that he isn't running a "fire in the belly" campaign, and that he doesn't have the support necessary to win the nomination. I'm here to tell them that they're wrong. Fred Thompson's blitz in Iowa this past week has been impressive, so impressive in fact that even the USA Today took notice. Patrick Ruffini, a Giuliani man, wrote a post on Townhall marveling at his schedule. He wants to win it, and he plans on telling voters that face-to-face.

Meanwhile, on the support front, Fred Thompson's campaign exceeded contribution goals several times in the past couple weeks, emphasizing his "hands down" win in the debate hosted by the Des Moines Register. Money is only one facit to his support however. Fred is dominating the new media. Jay from Stop the ACLU has compiled a partial list of blog endorsements of FDT. John Hawkins of RightWing News, the founder and a leading contributor to RedState.com, Eugene Volokh, Bill Quick of Daily Pundit, Beldar from Beldar's Blog, Rick Moran of Right Wing Nuthouse, Frank J. of IMAO, and myself, just to name a few. The Conservative support for Thompson online is overwhelming, and as Fred hits the ground, he's sure to surge.

You can donate to Fred's campaign. You can call on behalf of Fred. You can do a lot of things that'll help the Fredmentum build, and help the Conservative movement bring forth a real champion of our principles, as opposed to the open borders zealot John McCain, the big government populist Mike Huckabee, and the gun-rights opposing Mitt Romney. The support is out there, so don't doubt Fred on that basis. Support the movement, support his record, support Fred Thompson.

First off, here's the partial list Jay compiled of bloggers supporting Thompson. His support is huge in the blogosphere. Ruffini's post is online here and the USA Today article is also on the net. While I'm at it, I'd like to point to a big endorsement Fred received, Tom Tancredo's former Iowa chair. That video is on Fred's site. I have to ask, if Tancredo's man isn't willing to follow Tom to support Romney, should Tom's endorsement really be looked at? Iowa may be Thompson's Waterloo, but I think he's on the opposite side of Napoleon.

PREVIOUS:
Justin on Fred: Tancredo's Endorsement

Justin on Fred: Tancredo's Endorsement

This is Justin on Fred, a new running commentary series I'm going to be presenting here on ROTR on a regular basis. I intend to prove to you that Thompson is the only hope for the United States. My first piece is about Tancredo's endorsement of Romney, which was absolutely idiotic. Hot Air has Tancredo's speech, while Steve King is replying on behalf of the Thompson campaign. Here's a transcript of this piece:

Hi. This is Justin from Right on the Right.

This is a new audio series entitled Justin on Fred, where I'm going to make the case that Fred Thompson can be, should be, and needs to be the next President of the United States.

Congressman Tom Tancredo, one of the most prominent defenders of American sovereignty, dropped out of the Presidential race today, and endorsed Mitt Romney. His colleague, Steve King, another anti-illegal stalwart in Congress, has already endorsed Fred Thompson, and responded to the Tancredo endorsement on behalf of the Thompson campaign. King was a gentleman, saying that Tanc ran a good race, yadda yadda yadda. I love King, but the Thompson campaign needs to come out with fighting words. Mitt allowed Boston to stay a sanctuary city and receive state funding, Giuliani was the mayor OF a sanctuary city, John McCain literally writes the bills on amnesty, and Mike Huckabee is so far off-base on immigration that he said the struggle to maintain our borders was rooted in racism. Talk about non-Conservatism.

Fred has the moral high ground on the issue, and he DESERVED the Tancredo endorsement. Tom, I know you want to beat Huck, but you're abandoning your principles. You made the wrong call. Fred Thompson will secure the borders, beat the terrorists, and punch the hippies. Alright, the Conservative blogosphere added the last part. But to my readers, and other bloggers, I present to you, for your consideration, the true Conservative of 2008, Fred Dalton Thompson.

On a closing note, to the great blogger Ace, I think you're naive in picking Mitt and abandoning Thompson this early in the race. Fredmentum is building, and big name bloggers will help. Help power the machine that can and will win Iowa.
