The Syrian Connection

Conservatives rightfully continue to call for action against Iran, but often, Iran's near-proxy-state Syria is ignored. Syria continues to threaten stability in Iraq, and Little Green Footballs has the most recent news about that Islamofascist-enabling state:
Iraqi security forces have seized 200 explosive belts in a truck that crossed into Iraq from Syria on Wednesday, Interior Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Abdul-Karim Khalaf said.
The incident occurred at the Waleed border crossing point, Khalaf said. The Iraqi government and US authorities have accused Syria of allowing foreign fighters to cross into Iraq, a claim that Syria denies, saying it is impossible to control the long desert border.
When are we going to get tough with Syria and Iran? When are we going to prepare military action against these nations who are literally helping kill American soldiers.

Syrian/Iraqi Border
The Syrian/Iraqi border is probably about 1/3 the length of our border with Mexico. It is suspected that the same type of cargo is crossing our own border with Mexico, but I have yet to see a news story about any seized or captured explosives, nuclear bomb reagents, or other such terror contraband - only drugs, so far. Other commentators are welcome to expand on this thread, if you have any knowledge to the contrary.
In the mean time, it will be interesting to see what technologies and ideas they employ in securing Iraq's border with Syria. Perhaps they'll put troops on the border with shoot-on-sight orders? After all, WITHIN Iraq, those are the orders our own soldiers are given at remote post checkpoints!
This is going to be an idea bin for years to come, I can just feel it. Mexicans beware!
Stop Iran!
We cannot allow them to enable the Iraqis fight off an occupying army!
