Ralphie Considering Another Run

Bloomberg is considering an Independent run that some postulate may hurt the GOP, and Ralph Nader is once against considering a run that many would like us to believe would hurt Democrats.

RALPH NADER SAYS HE IS CONSIDERING 2008 PRESIDENTIAL RUN

Consumer advocate Ralph Nader told the Green Party’s national convention that he is considering a 2008 presidential run and accused Democrats of trying to shut smaller parties out of the political process.

“No other country comes close to providing voters with such a small number of choices and making third party candidates hurdle an almost insuperable number of obstacles just to get on the ballot,” Nader, the Green Party’s 2000 presidential nominee, said Saturday.

Later, addressing a few hundred conventioneers who chanted “Run Ralph Run,” Nader exhorted Greens to focus on raising money to boost their competitiveness.

I would never vote for Nader, as in an e-mail sent to supporters he once proposed a "maximum wage" of sorts. I also think that he would put unnecessary restrictions on business that would screw over the American economy. I do think though, after pulling over 2 1/2 % over the popular vote, Nader should be given a shot at a national run. Third parties won't hurt a Conservative-minded GOP. And a reminder that Republicans weren't the ones that targeted Nader:

He ran as an independent in 2004 but was removed from the ballot in Pennsylvania and other large states after Democrats challenged his nominating petitions.

Dude--

-the American Political System will never accept any candidate who has actually done things that have improved the way people drive, work and live. That's socialism! When Nader can honestly say he has done nothing for the american people, maybe then we'll let him in.

Shame on you, going on and on about choices.

Ugh. Actually Nader took

Ugh. Actually Nader took away MORE votes from Bush than Gore in 2000. That was proven in more than a few polls at the time. That's the grand lie that he only appeals to liberals when a varied group of people voted for him. Democrats like to whine that he "stole" all of Gore's votes when he actually took away more from ol' W. (Gore lost his own state for crying out loud!)
Nader's unique in that a lot of people respect him for the work he has done for over 50 years now. His record speaks for itself.

But I'm getting off-track: he actually pulls in the most votes from people who don't like either side of our corporate party and want real change. He "stole" the MOST votes from people who wouldn't have voted at all!

More choices can only be a good thing.
