The New York Times and MoveOn.org

The General "Betray Us" ad that the idiots at MoveOn.org ran was absolutely disgusting, but it wasn't exactly surprising. The following revelations about the New York Times, a discount on the ad, and how that ad came to run were a bit surprising, not because the Times isn't liberal, but because we though they wouldn't be so overt about it. Noel Sheppard at Newsbusters has some new information:
On Sunday, the Times's public editor Clark Hoyt came out strongly against the paper's decision to run this piece of detritus claiming that MoveOn got a price "that it should not have received under Times policies," and that "the ad appears to fly in the face of an internal advertising acceptability manual that says, ‘We do not accept opinion advertisements that are attacks of a personal nature.'"
I have to wonder if Mr. Hoyt is going to catch some internal flak for his decision to speak out on this issue. The "Betray Us" ad has only served to unify Conservatives, make the Times look foolish, and make liberals look even more pathetic than usual.
