Tancredo Drops Out, Endorses Romney

Update: It looks like the "anyone but Huckabee" theory might be the case. I'm not the only one that thinks that by the way. Here's the statement from Tancredo, and note that Huckabee is a pro-amnesty politician:

The presidential campaign has come down to less than a handful of viable candidates. Unfortunately several of them have abysmal records on immigration and can’t be trusted to do what is needed to preserve this country if they’re elected. My fear is that if I were to stay in this race my votes could be the factor in handing victory to a pro-amnesty politician. Friends, we have done too much, come too far and the stakes are too high to play that hand. And so I am ending my presidential campaign.

ROTR- Tancredo, Immigration HeroTom Tancredo is no longer running for President, but his influence on the '08 campaign will be long felt, and immigration is now a top-three issue all across the country. Tanc's exit doesn't exactly come as a surprise, but the real shocker is that Tancredo is endorsing Romney. Michelle points out that Tanc attacked Romney about amnesty back in July. I was hoping for a Thompson endorsement. Is this perhaps a move purely designed to beat Huckabee? That'd be my guess. Official word on the endorsement, via the Des Moines Register:

U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo announced today he’s ending his long-shot bid for the White House.

The Colorado Republican made his exit from the race official at a press conference this afternoon in downtown Des Moines. He’ll throw his support behind GOP candidate Mitt Romney, he said.

You didn't seem to have a

You didn't seem to have a problem with Mitt's abortion record in Massachusetts when you "endorsed him minorly at 2 different points". Shame on you, Justin. If Mitt is a flip-flopper politician, then you are a flip-flopper of a political pundit.

Mitt

I've thought about supporting Mitt, and even endorsed him in minor ways at two different points along the way. I guess faking an NRA endorsement and not fighting against abortion tooth-and-nail in Massachusetts set me off. Thompson all the way.

Romney Wins Big!

I've posted this at more than just this blog, but I definitely do not work for Romney's campaign. I want some conservatives, who I feel haven't given Mitt a fair shake thus far, to seriously reconsider their positions. Romney is clearly now the anti-illegal immigration candidate. What candidate can win the support of ALL conservatives...fiscal, defense, AND social? Mitt's the man!

Do any-

-of these politicians, so worried about the brown horde and amnesty policies, have any ideas to remedy NAFTA? Allegedly, every hour Mexico imports 1.5 million dollars in food and agro from the US. Lots of it susidized and genetically altered, to you know, have more of it to send.

Or are they so crowed by the alter of the 'free' market they cannot see that some of these problems could be fixed?
