Biggest McCain Lie Thusfar

John McCain is beyond dishonest at this point. He's tone deaf to the pleas of Republicans, his last debate performance was full of lies, and Democrats absolutely love working with him. Here's his most recent, and his most serious, slander:
Opening a new line of criticism in Ft. Myers as the two candidates campaigned along the state's southwest coast, McCain told reporters about Iraq: "If we surrender and wave a white flag, like Senator Clinton wants to do, and withdraw, as Governor Romney wanted to do, then there will be chaos, genocide, and the cost of American blood and treasure would be dramatically higher."
Minutes earlier, he took a slap at Romney without naming him during a question-and-answer session with Floridians, saying: "Now, one of my opponents wanted to set a date for withdrawal that would have meant disaster."
The AP article also includes some sharp denials from Romney about McCain's ridiculous statements. If you look at the Romney record, and at what Romney has publically said about Iraq, he has been saying exactly the opposite. Here are a few quotes from Mitt (with references):
Governor Romney: "Could you imagine the setting where during the Second World War we said to the Germans, 'Gee, if we haven't reached the Rhine by this date why we'll go home,' or if we haven't gotten this accomplished we'll pull up and leave?" (ABC's "Good Morning America," 4/3/07)
Governor Romney: "Well, there's no question we all want to see our troops home as soon as we can possibly have them home. But we have to recognize that if we bring them home too quickly or in a way which leads to a collapse of the country or perhaps the Iranians grabbing the Shia south or Al-Qaeda playing a dominating role among the Sunnis or a Kurdish population destabilizing the border with Turkey, you could then end up with a regional conflict which would cause Americans to somehow have to get involved again – this time at a much more ugly situation with more casualties." ("Laura Ingraham Show," 3/9/07)
The idea that Mitt Romney supported a timetable for withdrawal is absolutely ridiculous. He supported benchmarks, in the same way that General Petraeus supports setting benchmarks. Romney also said we shouldn't make decisions based on elections in Iraq or some sort of series of events. McCain is grasping for straws because Romney had such a strong response on Iraq in the last debate.

Or the candidates will be so drunk-
looneyontheleft — Sat, 2008-01-26 19:16-doing vodka shot challenges with each other(as they did on a Senatorial Regent visit to Russia) that they cannot bicker and lie about each other.
Bill says
cao — Sat, 2008-01-26 18:46Bill says if it's a race between Hitlery and McCain it will be a race that puts people to sleep because they get along so well.
I read at the Huffpo
cao — Sat, 2008-01-26 18:45That McCain's own mother says he has no support from the republicans. You can see the Huffington Post is just full of McCain, Obama and Hitlery....
"Party over country" is what meatbrain says.
In my opinion - in looking at how the liberals are so happy about McCain and considering the fact that Bill does if it's a race against McCain and Hitlery it will be peaceable because they're 'good friends' and agree on just about everything...
It seems to me as though this is liberal against conservative versus democrat against republican.
And since there are no conservatives left on the democrats' side and all the republicans look like democrats, it doesn't leave us with very much.
I'm hoping for a brokered convention.
