The Cult of Obama

There's an instinctive human desire to be part of something, and in this race, there seems to be a desire to be part of the Cult of Obama. Rick Moran hit the topic, and then I decided to look into it. Via Glenn Reynolds, I found a site pushing that narrative. Check out some of the quotes:
"The rest of us, we were in this huge crowd outside in the rain and he came out in the rain and talked to us," said Keze, her voice still raw from cheering. "I was 10 feet away from him, 10 feet away," she repeated another two times in awe.
"The only time I felt like that was when I saw Pope John Paul II."
Pope John Paul II? Calm down woman, he's just an empty suit! In all seriousness, the GOP is going to be facing a tough opponent in November, and it's increasingly looking like Barack Obama. He swept the board yesterday and he's set to sweep the Potomac Primaries, or at least two out of three. Are we really ready to face this type of zeal?
"It's almost like the Messiah, you know?" said Young, a woman who said she originally backed Clinton but was drawn to Obama over the last year. "People really, really want change, and you feel it. You don't just hear it -- you feel something coming from him."
I don't know what to say. These people are worse than the Cult of Ron Paul, which is mainly a mix of anti-war folks and libertarians. The Cult of Obama is growing quickly, raising huge amounts of money, and setting itself up to run the country. Scientologists, watch out, you have some competition.

"The rest of us, we were in this huge crowd outside in the rain and he came out in the rain and talked to us," said Keze, her voice still raw from cheering. "I was 10 feet away from him, 10 feet away," she repeated another two times in awe.
