YouTube Censors Anti-Gore Ad

YouTube has a habit of censoring ads about Islam, ads about abortion, and now, ads about Al Gore. Michelle Malkin has a post up about an ad made by the Competitive Enterprise Institute criticizing Al Gore. Fair Use, anyone? Here's the banned ad:

Crapmeister Anonyfool clings to its fantasies

Answering Anonyfool's latest ignorant burblings...

"The group in question provided a figure..."

Where did their figure come from?

"You provided a figure, which if their calculation for 20x was correct..."

Why would you assume that TCPR's calculation was correct, when we know that they lied about the source of their data?

"You're the one making the claim..."

What claim have I made?

What constitutes a "comparable home"? How much energy would a "comparable home" use? Where does that number come from? Why do you not even understand the need to have that number?

Where did the 20x multiplier come from? What numbers were used to calculate it?

Where did the 17x multiplier come from? What numbers were used to calculate it?

Why are you afraid to answer these questions?

The Onus is on You

The group in question provided a figure, which they claimed was 20x the comparable amount of energy. You provided a figure, which if their calculation for 20x was correct (albeit with an incorrect raw data number), would be 17x the normal amount of energy.

You're the one making the claim, so the onus is on you to prove that it's not 17x the normal amount of energy.

The questions Anonyfool won't ask itself

What constitutes a "comparable home"? How much energy would a "comparable home" use? Where does that number come from? Why do you not even understand the need to have that number?

Where did the 20x multiplier come from? What numbers were used to calculate it?

Why are you afraid to answer these questions?

Well the number of around

Well the number of around 220,000 was supposedly the one that was 20x the normal home usage. Just because the actual number was still a huge number of around 190,000 that doesn't mean the multiplier for 220,000 was wrong. Prove that the number they gave (while inaccurate) wasn't accurate in the multiplier and then you have a case. Until then, it's safe to assume the new number is roughly 17x the normal energy use.

Crapmeister Anonyfool loves him some lies

"Are you arguing that the pure figures are inaccurate or the multiplier?"

What "pure figures"? We have only one -- the amount of electricity (allegedly) used by Gore's homestead. The 20x was clearly a fabrication of TCPR, since they got no usage figures from Nashville Electric. But naturally, you have no qualms about using that fabrication, have you?

What constitutes a "comparable home"? How much energy would a "comparable home" use? Where does that number come from? Why do you not even understand the need to have that number?

You're the one...

You're the one that said that the group falsely claimed his home used 20x the energy, then posted the correction number. Are you arguing that the pure figures are inaccurate or the multiplier? If it's the multiplier, you've yet to provide any evidence disproving that.

Anonyfool hides behind the lies

"The group you mention claimed that 221,000 kilowatt hours was 20x the usual amount of energy..."

And we know that they lied -- they never got any data from Nashville Electric. So why, exactly, are you accepting their claims at face value despite their duplicity?

I was just using...

I was just using the numbers you provided. The group you mention claimed that 221,000 kilowatt hours was 20x the usual amount of energy, so that makes the usual amount of energy 11,050 kilowatt hours. Gore using 191,000, divided by 11,050, is roughly 17. There's the math.

Got all the numbers?

"His home uses 17x the usual amount of energy."

Show me the calculation, fool.

Shocking!

I'm serious! He's a rich asshole!

Im bored with this

Im bored with this "shocking" revelation so I'll just use this space to publicly thank you for ordering me that book. Kudos to you, sir. You are the cat's meow.

So What?

So what if he uses some more green energy programs than he could. His home uses 17x the usual amount of energy. Your failure to condemn Gore for that makes you a hypocrite.

Freegan Anyone?

Crapmeister Anonyfool opens its yap and removes all doubt

Are you too stupid to do any fact-checking, Anonyfool, or just too damn lazy?

Reports on criticism of Gore omitted steps he reportedly took to reduce "carbon footprint"

Coverage by several media outlets of the Tennessee Center for Policy Research's (TCPR) criticism of former Vice President Al Gore's home energy bills omitted some or all of the steps that Gore has reportedly taken to reduce the effect of his home energy usage. These steps were reported by MSNBC host Keith Olbermann, CNN financial correspondent Ali Velshi, and a February 27 article in The Tennessean of Nashville. On the February 27 edition of MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Olbermann said that TCPR's criticism "omits" that Gore's home includes "home offices for himself and his wife, as well as a guest house and special security measures," and that the Gores' use of "renewable sources" from the "Green Power Switch" program "actually costs more for the Gores." Olbermann further reported that, according to Green Power Switch, "some smaller homes consume energy in the same range of usage as does the one on the Gores' property." On the February 27 edition of CNN's American Morning, Velshi also noted that Gore's purchase of "green power" increased Gore's utility costs.

Gore is guilty-

-of being another asshole living in a gigantic house. His 'green' program he is in is admirable, but if he was in the kind of house 90% of everyone in this country lives in, his consumption might be down to normal levels.

(the green program being something where he pays more for using renewable energy or something...It has been awhile since I cared about this story, but his bills were way higher 'cuz he was paying more to leave less of resource footprint...but, of course, if he could manage to not live in a mansion, he would use way less energy....whatever)

Math...

If you do some quick math, you'll find that even if you're right, Gore's home uses 17x the amount of normal energy. You pointed out some facts, which is good, but you failed to address the main issue. Is using 17x the amount of energy of comparable homes a good thing?

Total crap, as always

In a recent email to me, Justin, you claimed:

"I'm trying to improve the discourse of discussion..."

How does pimping an ad that tells a lie in its first ten seconds do that, little fool? The claim that Gore's home uses "20 times" the energy of comparable homes comes from a front group called the "Tennessee Center for Policy Research". But...

[A] February 27 [2007] Associated Press article, questioned TCPR's assertion that the Gores used more than 220,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity in 2006. The AP reported that "according to bills [it] reviewed," "[t]he Gores used about 191,000 kilowatt hours in 2006," while TCPR "said that Gore used nearly 221,000 kilowatt hours." The AP reported that TCPR president Jason "Drew" Johnson "said his group got its figures from Nashville Electric Service". But company spokeswoman Laurie Parker said the utility never received a request from the policy center and never gave it any information.

Your claim that you want "to improve the discourse of discussion" was total crap from the very beginning, Justin. Please continue spreading lies. You and I both know that it's the only talent you have.
