A New Conservative Generation
- Posted by Justin Higgins on April 9th, 2008 in
I was reading a post on the GOP's blog, and it really got me thinking about the generation gap and interest in politics. A friend of mine sent the post to me and remarked, "We're becoming less and less of an anomaly." The post tells the story of Elizabeth Berry, a junior in college who is supporting John McCain. A new generation of Republicans is really out there, waiting to be a tapped resource. I'm hopefully going to be helping to grow that resource.
I received word today that I've been selected for the RNC's summer internship program in Washington, D.C., specifically helping with the RNC's eCampaign Division. It's a magnificent opportunity that will give me hands-on experience for several months working with the party that can reform this nation. My blog will be down over the summer, but I'll be blogging until then, and I'll be giving my readers updates up until I leave for D.C.. Housing is going to be a financial burden for me, so if you'd like to chip in a few bucks to the Paypal on the right, I'd appreciate it. There's a new generation of Conservatives and Republicans out there, and I'm going to spend this summer learning how to better tap into them.

Reform this nation?
Congratulations, it's good that you are participating. It may be better if you start by helping reform the Republican party from within. It occurs to me that the Republicans have largely been in control for the past seven years, and have already had plenty of opportunity to reform this nation. Perhaps they did, but certainly not for the better. I realize that the argument will be made that the Democrats are in control of the House of Representatives, but they only have the power to stop legislation from being passed. They don't have enough representation to pass their own legislation. I am not opposed to Republicans being in control of the government mind you, I am simply sick of the current version of conservatism that seems to be at the helm of the Republican party these days. I wouldn't be suprised if you found Dwight Eisenhower spinning in his grave over the current state of Republican ideology. Anyhow, I'm done. Please use this opportunity responsibly.
The system...
The system has been changed because constant nesting has been causing some issues and I have no way of limiting nesting to a certain level yet. The best way to remedy this is to put Re: (Comment) or Re: (User) as the subject header...
I meant-
-that as a response to meatbrain---Either I hit the wrong button or the system didn't file it under him.
But-
Justin has a future and options, why would be need to join the military? That's for the plebs.
Guess it was a bluff all along
What happened to all those brave plans to enlist in the military and defend your country, little boy? Where is your sense of duty?
Awesome
Very happy for you, Justin.
Congratulations!
You deserve this, I'll chip in some on Friday.
