Arthur's Pick: Mitt for VP

I've had disagreements from time to time with Arthur from Arthur's Hall of Viking Manliness, especially since he's been backing McCain since the beginning of the primary process. Now that I'm in McCain's camp, I suppose I can reconcile some of our differences. One place where I really agree with Arthur is on the pick for VP. Via the Hall of Viking Manliness, the case for Mitt:

ROTR- Mitt for VeepMitt Romney is a remarkable man and politician. His discipline, economic acuity and status as a Washington outsider complements John McCain perfectly. Like McCain, he has a proven track record of working with Democrats and the combination of McCain and Romney will prove that the GOP is ready to move past the era of partisanship. Obama and whatever clown he chooses will have no track record of anything. They will talk about change and cooperation but won't be able to demonstrate the ability to accomplish it. Mitt Romney has an established track record of successes in business, management and as Governor of Massachusetts. One of the major assets Romney brings to the table is his extensive knowledge and understanding of economics. When he talked about the economy during the Republican debates he ran circles around McCain, Huckabee and the rest. He will embarrass any Democrat in a VP debate. He would serve as the pitchman for the economic platform which would free McCain to concentrate on the talking points he excels at like freedom, patriotism, duty, and foreign policy.

Bad idea

I supported Romney in the primary, and actually, wore my Romney shirt out last night.

Romney ended his campaign with a net negative approval rating. You cant bring that to an already uphill battle.

Thanks!

Hey, thanks for the link man. I am glad that you dig the article. I have no problem with Mitt going forward, I would like to see him as President in 2012. The reason I did not support to start is that I knew that we needed a guy who was viewed as more of a break from Bush. Thanks again man!

Doesn't surprise me

What I mean by that is, when Mitt started his run for Pres. a lot of G.W.'s folks went to work for him. As well as a lot of his top doners, were donating to Mitt. From what I've heard from some friends is, that G.W's is now pushing for Mitt to be the V.P.

Mitt was the "one" to be selected as the front-runner. According to my friends, but as you can see that didn't pan out. Why do you think Ingraham, Hannity, and Rush were pusing for Mitt, and not so hard for Thompson? Because they are all in bed together. With Mitt being the nominee, Rudy was going to be the V.P. This is how it was going to be. But, McCain got it, and Mitt is going to be the V.P. Rudy will have a cabnet postion. I will bet you a meal at Hannitys favorite "Ruth Chris", if this all does come true. You do know the Mitt just spoke at the recent Bilderberg Conference here in DC, right? He's the V.P.

I know, this all sounds like some kook conspiricy thinking. But, really it isn't.
