Red Envelope Day.

Ben Graham — Tue, 2009-02-17 16:00

Hey everyone, I just was invited to a group on Facebook that I thought would be good to give you the heads up on. It is an event where on March 31 everyone who opposes abortion and wants to let President Obama know about it will send a Red envelope addressed to:

President Barack Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW
Washington , D.C. 20500

On the back you should write:

"This envelope represents one child who died because of an abortion.
It is empty because the life that was taken is now unable to be a part of our world."

This would be a great way for all your pro-life people out there to let Pres. Obama know that
you don't approve of killing innocent babies.

If you would like to participate just send in an envelope or join the Facebook group here

UPDATE: I got some feedback from Becky Yarrison she suggested that we should also remind President Obama that he campaigned on hope and that it is our hope that he will give those in the womb an opportunity to share in that hope.

I wish the health care reform doesn't include about abortion, since abortion is not right, from any side, it's wrong. So, I vote no for abortion. Killing innocent baby, what the hell they think? - restaurantes madrid

Killing innocent babies are very harmful. i really appreciate Obama's rule. Abortion also like criminal offense. So government has to take stringent action against this.

Many children were died because of an abortion. It is our duty to create awareness that we have no rights to kill innocent babies.

Really a wonderful concept. But how many will accept and oppose is the major issue. Anyway thanks for making people aware of this.

Google announced today a new, experimental idea aiming to reshape the future of communication on the web. It's called Wave, and if you believe its developer, it's "what email would look like if it were invented today." It's also going to be totally open source. Intrigued?

Although CPCs were at one

Anonymous (not verified) — Mon, 2009-03-30 23:11

Although CPCs were at one time the pinnacle of what was being done to protect women and their unborn child - they have fallen to the wayside in light of the fact that they were confrontational an we now have pregnancy resource centers at our disposl - providing US and providing community support in a non-confrontational manner. Pregnancy resource centers can not only perform pregnancy test, perform ultrasons and provide options counseling incluing risks and benefits of each option by hightly trained individuls. Although it served a purpose at one tiime, contnuing to use the title CPC is only doing the pro-life movemnt harm. The mission has not changed, just the tactics - all the while accomplishing the same goals. An empty envelope is not a waste of time or money. It is it's simplicity which makes this easy to understnd. It's exactly what it was meant to be - a symbol. An empty shell void of space, void of life, void of what shold be insde - what was intended to be in side - the knowledge that life is missing and can never be related to a tragic decision which killed so many of my classmates/friends I never had the chance to meet. I was born in 1973 - for me...it's more than personal.

Wave of Red in the Mail

OliviaB. — Mon, 2009-03-30 13:40

I can picture a wave of red in the mailroom of The White House. I just learned about this effort yesterday and my red envelope will be in the mail today. I hope it's not too late. This is a great way to silently give a dramatic message to The President. Good job, guys.

Empty Envelope

Anonymous (not verified) — Wed, 2009-03-25 10:05

Rather than send an empty envelope, I am sending the word of the LORD to Washington. One page, with verses relating to children. An empty envelope is just what is empty. Let the word of the LORD fill that place, break down the barriers and allow the Holy Spirit to do a work.

Red Envelope Day support

Anonymous (not verified) — Sun, 2009-03-22 09:58

I will gladly mention Red Envelope Day to the ladies I know from church & other organizations, my family and my friends. Red Envelopes like this will make a great follow-up for those who may be participating in the USCCB's intiated "Nationwide Pro-Life Postcard" campaign (see the USCCB Website's page on abortion) and who may already participated in the annual March for Life in Washington DC.

Idea: Add a Rose sticker to your Red Envelope to symbolize pro-life.

Add a Rose sticker to the envelope when you address it. That, I've heard, is a pro-life symbol.

Anonymous (not verified) — Sun, 2009-03-22 09:51

The Red Envelope Day will be an excellent follow-up for everyone who participates in the USCCB's initiated "Nationwide Pro-Life Postcard Campaign" and/or the March For Life (Washington DC). All those against abortion are urged to participate and see the USCCB website.

Also idea... add a Rose sticker to your Red Envelopes as that is pro-life as well.

Red Envelope Day March 31st Support

Anonymous (not verified) — Sun, 2009-03-22 09:44

The Red Envelope campaign is definitely a campaign of hope. I am going to present this to members in my parish, family, relatives, and friends. Red Envelope Day will make an excellent follow-up to the March for Life which was held in Jan. (Washington DC) and the USCCB initiated Nationwide Pro-Life Postcard Campaign which is well underway. All people who oppose abortion are urged to participate and see the USCCB's letter on their website at: http://www.usccb.org/comm/archives/2009/09-032.shtml

Red Envelopes

Anonymous (not verified) — Wed, 2009-03-11 18:28

The accusations will surely come from both sides of the issue, that the hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on postage and envelopes could have been better spent on preserving life, so I urge everyone to "go one better" and make a donation to a local faith-based crisis pregancy center or children's home, and then add this sentence to their envelope "A donation of $__ has been made to a faith based crisis pregancy center
in memorial of those lives lost to abortion."

Red Envelope Day

Anonymous (not verified) — Mon, 2009-03-02 16:49

Kudos to everyone supporting Red Envelope Day. As a mother of four and a grandmother of ten, I am reminded daily that every child is a wonderful miracle and a gift from God. That goes for those who hate pro-life folks, too.

I am very glad someone thought of this! I have always wanted to speak out on this and here is my chance. I just want you to know that I HIGHLY agree with this and am happy to do it. I only wish more people would do it! This Friday night I am inviting the high school group to my house and we are going to fill out a bunch of those. I hope that President Obama gets the picture. I am 19 years old and I am Pro-Life!!!!
