Mitch Albom and Government Socialism.
Ben Graham — Mon, 2009-06-08 20:11
I don't normally listen to liberal talk show hosts because just listening to them raises my blood pressure. But a couple of days ago I was riding in the car and decided to turn on the radio even though I knew that Liberal blowhard Mitch Albom would be on.
Here in Michigan Albom has been doing sports commentary for awhile, and you may know him from his books and plays including Tuesday's With Morrie. Now I have no problem with him doing sport commentary, in fact he seems to be pretty good at it. But in the last few years he show has become more of a Liberal political talk show then sports commentary.
But when I turned on the radio Albom was talking about the government takeover of the auto industry. The station he is with is out of Detroit so this is a big issue with listeners. He went on and on about how the government wasn't going to socialism and how just taking over the auto industry wasn't socializing the U.S. because it was just one small part of the country.
The thing is, he even admitted that 25% of U.S. jobs are connected to the auto industry. Lets see what else has the government taken over? Oh yes, the banks, insurance companies, and will be taking over health care.
Jenifer Granholm my wonderful, Liberal, Socialist, Canadian Governor says:
The auto industry supports one of every 10 jobs in the United States.
I'm not sure if this statistic is true, but Mitch Albom supports Governor Granholm so I'm sure he believes it. 1 out of every 10 jobs! That equals 10% of U.S. jobs!
How about health care?
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics:
In 2006, health care provided 14 million jobs—13.6 million jobs for wage and salary workers and about 438,000 jobs for the self-employed.
Health Care amounts to another 10% of jobs.
Banking is the biggest of all of them. Not because there are tons of workers employed by banks. But because the banks control the money. When a person want to start a new company what do they do? They get a loan. If someone wants to buy a house. What do they do? They get a loan. So with the government having a major stake in banking they are really controlling all of the money that flows into our economy.
Mitch Albom said on his show that the government isn't trying to take over all businesses. Your right Mitch, they are just taking over the biggest ones and the ones that control everything!
With government health care and the takeover of the auto and banking industry the government has control of about 25% of our nations jobs. I would love to be able to ask Mitch Albom how he thinks that isn't socialism.
