Bill Clinton

Reverend Wright and Bill Clinton

Update: I agree with a friend of mine, who says that there's a big difference between a fundraiser encounter and a 20 year church relationship. I just think that this adds an almost comical full-circle effect to the scandal.

Reverend Jeremiah Wright was an invited guest to the White House, and met with Bill Clinton. Apparently, Hillary was also at the event. This makes the Obama-Wright-(Clinton?) scandal all the more damning to the Democrats. Clinton aides are already fighting back against the Obama camp discretely throwing this new fact around. The picture that makes it all real:

Saturday Humor: Dr. Phil

This video comes from Ms. Underestimated, who once again proves she can find some of the best highlights in a day's worth of television. Why am I showing you a video of Dr. Phil talking to some swingers? Watch it, wait for the punchline, and laugh your ass off at a line that parallels Romney's for best line of the last couple days:

Ten Years Ago Today...

ROTR- Drudge ReportThe Monica Lewinsky scandal was one of the most public spectacles in the history of American politics, but it was also a launchpad for new media. Free Republic became the home of millions, Rush Limbaugh expanded his ever growing empire, and Newt Gingrich became one of the most decisive politicians of the last century. Who was behind this all however? Matt Drudge. No one can deny the influence of the Drudge Report in American politics. Even his critics admit Drudge did something huge:

As much as I'm loathe to give a compliment here, every news blogger and online journalist is an heir to Drudge, who realized before anyone else that all journalists are created equal on the browser's address bar.

Both sides of the blogosphere owe a "tip-o-the-hat" to Matt Drudge for what he accomplished for new media. The age of serious citizen journalism began, and the world of global news entered homes everywhere. Just think about how media will change throughout the next ten years...

Bill Clinton: Gore Will Run

Former President Bill Clinton and political blogger Andy Ostroy are now predicting that Al Gore will enter the 2008 race. I'm personally in the camp that believes he'll be jumping into the race too, so this is no surprise to me. NewsMax has the story:

Hillary Clinton may be the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008, but her husband Bill thinks she’ll likely face stiff competition from a yet unannounced source – Al Gore.

Bill was at a get-together at the apartment of Air America’s new chief Mark Green when political blogger Andy Ostroy asked the former president if he believes Gore is going to run, according to the New York Post’s Page Six column.

"Someone’s got to fizzle,” Clinton answered. "If someone fizzles, then yeah, he could enter the race. He’s got plenty of money, his own money, to do it.”

Ostroy predicts that it will be Barack Obama who fizzles by September, and "Gore will toss his hat into the ring and enlist the junior senator from Illinois as his running mate. An unbeatable ticket.”
