The Onion: How to Pretend Like You Care

Free Healthcare: Not So Free

I've been having a steady debate with some Conservative friends of mine about whether or not John McCain is really worth voting for. As you can tell from my coverage, I think he is, because while I may disagree with him some of the time, I agree with him most of the time. Take the issue of universal health care for instance; McCain thinks private market innovation is the way to go and Barack thinks it's all about the government-run garbage. On socialized health care, Jay from Stop the ACLU found a gem in a Glenn Beck parody commercial:

The inherent flaw in our health care system today is that we have people making decisions (HMOs, employers, etc.) that don't care about the well-being of the recipient. Adding another step to that bureaucracy by putting it in the hands of some government Joe Schmoe will only complicate the problem. Beck's right on this one, and pretty clever. I'm sure you've all seen the annoying original commercial also. He picked one everyone would recognize, and now I hope everyone will recognize the failures of CanadaCare.

Johnny Mac on SNL

Update: A friend of mine sent me the link to a much better clip of our nominee's appearance. Here's the much better NBC version:

NBC Universal pulled rank to make sure YouTube videos of McCain's appearance on SNL didn't fully make it online, but videos about the appearance like the following are there:

He could smile a bit more, but the fact that he goes with the joke makes it pretty funny, and good political posturing. It's nice to see him expand upon his pop-culture reputation. A Wedding Crashers cameo alone isn't good enough...

A Blogger's Nightmare

I didn't catch this episode yet, but judging by the clip posted on Hot Air, it looks to be pretty hilarious. Drudge must be loving the reference also:

Humor: Spitzer Prostitute Press Conference

I received this video yesterday by e-mail, and I find it pretty funny. Content Warning for tons of sexual humor:
