Marc Dann

Vindy Describes Dann's E-Mail Habits

It was November 13th when I wrote about Marc Dann's distasteful anti-Christian humor. Since then, Dann's had a lot of interesting things happen to him, and he's been writing e-mails about it all. Those e-mails have become a point of public contention.

ROTR- Marc DannFirst off, I submitted my original story on the Vindicator forums, since as of that point, the Vindicator hadn't covered Dann's bigotry. Let's just say, that Dann defenders aplenty were camped out in the forums, and in response to my article, one commenter said the following:

That's what wrong with polotics.
Whether he said it or not, where's the offensive remarks?
No doubt higgins is a Jew hater and made the remark to alert all others like him.

Being accused of being a Jew hater is a little new to me, considering my ardent defense of Israel, but I have been called a Hitler Youth. I suppose being called an anti-Jewish fascist is just the norm these days. I was mildly surprised the Vindicator missed the Dann story, though they did make casual reference to Dann's comments in an article on November 25th. Finally however, today, all of Dann's "frank" e-mail habits are being described in a Vindy article. An excerpt:

Dann was obviously frustrated when Simpson sent him an e-mail that the attorney general's office — when it was run by Jim Petro, a Republican — had paid $3.84 million to Hewlett-Packard over a three-year period for its computers.

"I'm most p----- that we still have s----- computers," Dann wrote in response.

As upset as Mr. Dann is about the computer system, I find him to be a bit rougher than I'd like in a public official. Even aside from his bigotry, the man is a jerk. It's a shame the Vindicator didn't run more pieces slamming the man rather than describing his quirky e-mail habits.

Marc Dann and Anti-Christian Bigotry

Attorney General Marc Dann, who hails from my home district, deserves some ridicule for his comments. In case you missed it, one of his e-mails was exposed in the Dayton Daily News, and it also exposed his bigotry:

ROTR- Marc Dann

Dann, who is Jewish, e-mailed Jennings on April 6 about an editorial that ran in his hometown paper, The (Youngstown) Vindicator: "Bentley said there are six nasty posts after the Vindy editorial. All about you," he wrote. "Jesus had it better on good friday."

Asked last week about the Good Friday line, Dann said, "Did I say that? ... I really stay away from religious jokes. So I would be really surprised about that, if I said that. That's not my sense of humor."

Did you really say that, Mr. Attorney General? Yes, and it's already time for you to begin apologizing. Comparing some political attacks to Jesus's crucifixion is remarkably anti-Christian. Matt Hurley from Weapons of Mass Discussion has the GOP response to his comments. Excerpt:

“If comedians and talk show hosts can be fired and publicly scorned for a single racist remark, Marc Dann should be held no less accountable."

“I expect Ted Strickland will join me in demanding an apology from Marc Dann. Certainly the governor and ordained minister would not tolerate these comments from a statewide office holder.”

While Ted Strickland is an ordained minister, I wouldn't put it past him to stay silent on this issue. The people of Ohio need to be made aware of Dann's bigotry, and should say something about it. The phone number of Marc Dann's office is (614) 466-4320.
