Boycotting the ChiComms
- Posted by Justin Higgins on April 9th, 2008 in
I have never been in favor of the unbalanced trade we're engaging in with the Chinese. I think it's ridiculous that we're boycotting the Cubans while we let Chinese goods, produced in a nation with a radical regime, flow openly into our country. Still, the notion of boycotting the Olympics is controversial, and I'm not ready to say our athletes shouldn't show up. I agree with one Congressman however in saying that our President shouldn't be there:
As the Year of the Rat scurries toward the opening ceremonies, however, I and my anti-communist ilk have not been idle. On April 1, I introduced H.R. 5668, which would bar any United States government official from attending the Beijing games’ ceremonies. (Importantly, this legislation does not impact our athletes.) Oh, I know H.R. 5668 requires the President’s signature or a Congressional over-ride of his veto to become law. Still, while it may not persuade the President to be “unavoidably otherwise occupied elsewhere in the world” during the communist Chinese Olympics, it will meet our moral imperative to our posterity, our country, and the cruel muse of History:
For when, once again, history’s flickering lamp illumes our aged cheeks and strews her lengthening shadows across our fleeting existence, she will avow how the supporters of H.R. 5668 did “march always in the ranks of honor.”
Pray she finds Republicans amongst them.
McCotter, if you read the entire piece, does not mince words in going after our Commander-in-Chief's decision. While I think some of his jokes (i.e. calling him "The Decider") came off as mean and sarcastic as opposed to satirical and funny, but he gets the point across. President Bush should not attend the Olympic Games in China.
Chinese Missiles in Saudi Arabia
- Posted by Justin Higgins on December 2nd, 2007 in
What if terrorists, other than Iran, were getting weapons from China? What if somehow, someone was funneling support to radical militants from inside the communist state? It's happening, and it's scary. FOX News has the story:
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — A Saudi Arabian newspaper said Sunday that suspected Al Qaeda terrorists were allegedly able to smuggle eight Chinese-made missiles into the kingdom before they were arrested as part of a terror sweep.
The daily Okaz, which is deemed close to the government, quoting unnamed officials as saying militants wanted to use the missiles to allegedly target hotels and other buildings in the kingdom.
The newspaper did not further describe the missiles.
The Saudi Interior Ministry last week announced that it made its largest terror sweep to date, arresting 208 Al Qaeda-linked militants in six separate arrests in recent months. One of the alleged terror cells was led by a non-Saudi missile expert, the ministry said.
There is great news inside this article, the fact that Saudi Arabia is fighting al-Qaeda linked terrorism. The bad news is that Saudi Arabia is still a sharia-following hellhole, and that this still means terrorists have the ability to get powerful weapons from countries like China. When are we going to crack down on our supposed allies as hard as we are cracking down on our enemies?
China's Economic War Plan
- Posted by Justin Higgins on August 7th, 2007 in
Trading with a communist country that has no interest in our economy is a bad idea, and China may be ready to launch an economic war on the United States. I'm not normally a big "divestment" person, but if there's a time to divest in China and invest in America's economic infrastructure, it's now. The Telegraph has the story:
Two officials at leading Communist Party bodies have given interviews in recent days warning - for the first time - that Beijing may use its $1.33 trillion (£658bn) of foreign reserves as a political weapon to counter pressure from the US Congress. Shifts in Chinese policy are often announced through key think tanks and academies.
Described as China's "nuclear option" in the state media, such action could trigger a dollar crash at a time when the US currency is already breaking down through historic support levels.
It would also cause a spike in US bond yields, hammering the US housing market and perhaps tipping the economy into recession. It is estimated that China holds over $900bn in a mix of US bonds.
This type of economic warfare is unprecedented in America's history, and broadening American investments in other countries and reducing the deficit would be big keys to defeating the ChiComms economically. China also has a shared shortfall, oil. American drilling in ANWR, off-shore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, and slant-drilling in the Rocky Mountains would give us a huge oil advantage. Possibly enough to take the sting out of a Chinese economic strike. We need to think about economic warfare as the Chinese expand their sphere of influence.
Problem in Darfur? Blame the Jews!
- Posted by Justin Higgins on July 29th, 2007 in
Update: In the meantime, one Jewish American is taking a stand against China to try to end violence in Darfur. Sure, I don't like Speilberg's politics, but I'm for anyone sockin' it to the Chicomms.
I already gave a reality check to the Save Darfur movement, which doesn't realize that the genocide there is due to two radical Islamofascist groups fighting each other. The losers in it all are the civilians and the Christians, and putting U.S. troops in the crossfire would be stupid. For more proof of their Islamofascist rhetoric, they're now blaming the Jews for the problems in Sudan:
“Are these Jewish groups supporting (the rebels) financially?,” the interviewer from Okaz asked Hussein.
“Yes, they provide political and material support through their control over the media and across American and British circles,” Hussein said, adding that Jewish groups were using “all means to fuel these conflicts.”
A muslim blaming Jewish groups for the problems in the world? Now that's a real shocker! If you think the Blame America First crowd here in the United States is bad, you need to analyze the Blame Israel First crowd everywhere else in the world.
Morning E-Mail
- Posted by Justin Higgins on June 21st, 2007 in
I'd like to open up this morning's blogging by answering an interesting e-mail I got in the overnight. For those of you who may not have my e-mail address (I need to repost several things, including contact information and the paypal link), you can CLICK HERE and shoot me an e-mail. Anyways...
Justin,
I was reading your site and realized that you are pretty absent on talking about NAFTA, CAFTA, and the other government sham-trade agreements. Can you blog a bit about how the assholes in Washington from both parties are screwing us over?
Donnie
First off, I don't get e-mails from readers that often, so thanks for giving me some morning fodder. Secondly, I'll gladly blog about how unfair trade practices are hurting the American worker. I've went on record, several times on this site, saying that tariffs the Chinese are putting on American goods, underhanded business practices, and ridiculous bureaucracy in the way we handle business are all things making free trade something it wasn't designed to be.
Let's take China for instance. Goods made in China hit the docks heading to the United States, and prices are marked down, and the Chi-Comm government rewards the businesses for making low priced goods in a subsidy. Meanwhile, American goods arrive at the same port and are marked up just for being made in the States. The American businesses can't compete and the trade deficit grows. Meanwhile, our own government is making it harder for businesses by putting ridiculous regulations on factory sizes, the number of workers that can be hired, and the types of jobs people can have without certain training. I understand safety regulations but you don't need some sort of license to use some of this equipment. I think we cut trade to countries that are stiffing us with tariffs, and let the American worker do what he's best at, adapt and create solutions. Thanks for the e-mail Donnie, and I'll try to cover this more in the future.
